U-17 Nike Friendlies: Post-Tourney Reaction

They beat South Korea 2-1 and tied Brazil 0-0 (in a very chippy affair), but the U.S. Under-17s still finished third in the Nike Friendlies, thanks to last night’s 2-0 loss to Turkey.

Turkey took the tournament with the victory, finishing with seven points from three games.

Brazil, which knocked off South Korea 3-2 in its finale, finished second with five points (ties against the U.S. and Turkey and last night’s victory).

Some U.S. players who stood out to us over the three games included left midfielder Marc Pelosi, central midfielder Alejandro Guido, striker Mario Rodriguez, and, though he stumbled at points, defender Kellyn Acosta, who’s only 15.
