Ricardo Clark News—Ask and Ye Shall Receive

Rico: Bundesliga bound?

Yesterday, we remarked how it had been a while since there’d been any news on out-of-contract former Houston Dynamo midfielder Ricardo Clark. And now, today, right on cue, comes this report. Nothing has been officially announced, but it sounds like Rico is thisclose to joining Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.

Eintracht currently stands in seventh place in the German league. If Clark signs with the club, he’ll be the fifth U.S. player in the German top flight, after Michael Bradley (Borussia Moenchengladbach), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover 96), Jermaine Jones (Schalke O4), and  19-year-old Jared Jeffrey, who signed with FC Mainz on Dec 30.

UPDATE: German magazine Kicker is reporting that Clark has signed a deal with Eintracht through the end of the current season, with an option to renew for three more years. (‘Google translate’ gem: Eintracht Frankfurt has tested the U.S. national team, Ricardo Anthony Clark and found good.)
